The Whisky Amarone Cask Finish Arran is a prized Scottish single malt whisky from the island of Arran, from the homonymous distillery, awarded 96 points out of 100 in the Whisky Bible. What makes it special is its processing, the result of the desire to experiment and achieve unique spirits in the world, being aware of the craftsmanship: after an initial maturation in traditional oak casks, the whisky is transferred in order to finish in selected Amarone wine casks. Amarone is the famous Italian red wine of Valpolicella, already loved and praised by Catullus in Carme number 27...“Inger mi calices amariores,/ut lex Postumiae iubet magistrae/ebrioso acino ebriosiores”...From the casks’ wood, which is enhanced by this noble and bewitching wine, of course, a magnificent whisky has arised, having being made of intense flavors and aromas from a bottling without any change in its alcohol content of 50%: a true praise of taste. It is the second master distiller, James MacTaggart, to monitor the evolution of the second period of maturation, driven by the goal of a perfect balance.
