Sonvico La Barbatella 2012

La Barbatella likes to call the Sonvico as "a marriage between Italy and France that gives us a wine that combines the fruity of Barbera with the complexity of taste and the smell of the Cabernet Sauvignon". A wine of great elegance and complexity that makes the softness and personality its strong characters. Born from the vineyards of Nizza Monferrato, in the heart of the hills between Asti and Alessandria. Here the first evidence that prove the presence of vineyards of great value from the late nineteenth century; testimonies collected with emphasis and dedication by Angelo Sonvico first and family Perego then. This wine is named as Angelo and give us his soul, his character, his personality, his dreams and desires. A wine that can thrill to the story that has and can tell; this wine comes from vineyards of 1987 sun kissed the South, located 220 meters above sea level, on soils rich in limestone and tending to sandy. Unlike Ruanera, also a blend of Barbera and Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonvico is aged 24 months in French oak barrels; this extended passage in barrels gives the Sonvico more structure and complexity, with the softness and personality that Youths even more than it had already benefited in Ruanera. And so that the fruity Barbera join notes of cinnamon and nutmeg, giving us a warm wine, fruity and highly complex.
