Bio Vio

Bio Vio

Bio Vio is Giobatta Vio “Aimone”’s farm that in recent years has become known thanks to its traditional agricultural practices. Through its intense flavors and sincere wines, the winery tells a craft heritage of centuries old, refusing any treatment with herbicides, pesticides or chemical fertilizers.

Bio Vio is located in the hinterland of Albenga, precisely in the ancient medieval village of Bastia d'Albenga, the village of Giobatta Vio. He decided to build his farm in 1980 on the ground floor of his own house, turning it into a magnificent castle surrounded by a crenellated walls and since then he and his family, with his wife Chiara and his daughters Caterina, Camilla and Carolina, have dedicated themselves to the care of the cellar and the six acres of vineyard. The atmosphere is from another time, as well as the flavors contained in the bottles of wine: Giobatta Vio wanted to preserve every handicraft method of the Ligurian tradition and decided to propose wines typical of the place, thanks to the valuable work of the winemaker Tino Moretti: Pigato and Vermentino. Giobatta Vio wanted to assign to his wines names that would underline their special distinctive uniqueness: his latest creation, for example, is the “In Da Bon Bon”, the "really good", born from grapes of a particular cru, harvested late and vinified with the methods of yesteryear.

The land of Giobatta Vio is cradle of vineyards that have almost 60 years...The choice of Bio Vio is thus to work in harmony with nature, designed to give a voice, and taste, a heritage rooted for centuries in Liguria.
